Cleaning

HTML Shrinker offers some functions for cleaning html documents located in a frame between the text window and the button bar. They can be used to remove special objects or tags which you would normally consider essential during the shrinking process. These functions can be used to clean html documents and make the files even smaller if the layout of the pages isn't so important. These slimmed documents are suitable e.g. for archiving or transferring them to a pocket computer.

Even if one or more of these check boxes are activated when exiting HTML Shrinker, they will be deactivated when restarting HTML Shrinker. This is a safety precaution to omit removing tags and objects unintentionally in the case of forgetting to deactivate these check boxes.

When activating the Images check box all <IMG> tags are removed, when activating Scripts all code between the beginning <script> and ending </script> tags is taken away and with Styles all style sheet code will be annihilated. The NB Spaces check box will remove all non-breaking spaces and the activated Fonts check box will delete all <font> tags.

Using the Shrink, Shrink All or Shrink Clipboard commands, while one or more of these check boxes are activated, will perform the appropriate removement.

TIP: To clean a document from the above mentioned tags and objects without shrinking it, you would have to deactivate all shrinking options in the Options dialog.
